Cory holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Information Technology with a New Media Publishing Concentration from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He received a formal education in User Interface Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Software/Web Development, Object-Oriented Programming, Database Management, and Visual Communication Design. He also attended The Ohio State University. He has extensive experience in Web Design, Print Design, and Fine Art. Cory has a strong mix of creative, technical, and business-related skills.
Cory worked as Software Design Expert (UX/UI) at Amdocs Product Development Organization (Clarify CRM) in Silicon Valley over a span of 5 years handling complex user experience design challenges. He received 4 awards for Outstanding Dedication and Certificate of Achievement.
He worked as a Lead User Experience Designer at marchFirst/SBI in San Francisco from 2000-2001.
He worked as a Senior Information Architect at iXL in San Francisco in 2000.
He worked as a Senior Information Architect and Lead Site Author (Presentation Layer Architect) at iXL in New York City from 1999-2000, and received an XTRA Effort Award.
He worked as a User Interface Designer at Hanover Direct in New York City from 1998-1999.
Cory is a pioneer in the field of information architecture and user experience design. In 1996, he began creating site maps, flow charts, and other information architecture specification documents to communicate the design and planning of the user experience to external clients. That same year, he designed his first large-scale ecommerce site with thousands of unique products, and conducted his first card sorting exercises with clients and potential users.
